La ciudad de Bombay es presa de una mezcla de entusiasmo y curiosidad a las puertas de la boda del año en la India: Anant Ambani, hijo del multimillonario Mukesh Ambani, y su prometida Radhika Merchant se casan a partir de mañana en una serie de ceremonias repletas de estrellas que prometen extravagancia y grandeza.
Radhika Merchant, hija del industrial indio Viren Merchant, es la novia de toda la vida del heredero de 29 años, hijo de uno de los 10 hombres más ricos del mundo, con una fortuna que supera los 110.000 millones de dólares, según la lista Forbes.
El gran festejo previo a la boda de Anant Ambani
Las fiestas previas a la boda comenzaron el pasado marzo, con tres días de despampanantes celebraciones en un complejo propiedad de la familia Ambani en Jamnagar, la ciudad donde la pareja se conoció, con más de 1.200 asistentes.
Al evento, que contó con la participación de Rihanna, acudieron las mayores estrellas de Bollywood y magnates como Bill Gates.
Las celebraciones de la ‘preboda’ no se detuvieron allí. La pareja se embarcó en mayo en un lujoso crucero de cuatro días por el Mediterráneo con otros 1.200 amigos y familiares, que incluyó actuaciones de los Backstreet Boys, el DJ de David Guetta, Pitbull y Katy Perry, reveló la novia en una entrevista la revista Vogue.
Por otro lado, se dio a conocer que hace unos días, fue Justin Bieber quien se presentó en una de las fiestas privadas previo a la boda de Anant y Radhika; por dicho concierto el cantante canadiense recibió 180 millones de dólares.

Por fin, y al más puro estilo indio, la boda se llevó a cabo en un centro de convenciones de Bombay propiedad de la empresa de Ambani padre, y se extenderá a lo largo de tres días y un sinfín de eventos y tradiciones.
Las invitaciones por sí solas son piezas de arte en un gran cofre naranja con imágenes de dioses hindúes que reproducen el sonido de un mantra, e incluyen obsequios para los invitados, que varios medios han valorado entre 5.000 y 7.000 dólares cada uno.
Se espera que el menú de la boda sea un viaje por la cocina india con platos como el famoso Kashi Chaat Bhandar de Benarés, conocido por su comida callejera, entre otras opciones encargadas a una selección de chefs internacionales para mostrar el rico tapiz culinario de la India.

Desde hoy hasta el domingo todos los presentes disfrutarán de los lujos que los anfitriones habrán puesto a su disposición en dos de los lugares más emblemáticos de Bombay, uno la residencia Antilia que cuenta con 27 pisos y está valorada en unos 1.000 millones de dólares,
El otro, el Jio World Convention Centre, un recinto de convenciones exclusivo con capacidad para más de 16.000 personas.
La afluencia de invitados ha provocado un aumento en las reservas de hoteles, particularmente en las zonas de la ciudad próximas al sitio de la boda, con buena parte de los hoteles cinco estrellas con disponibilidad limitada o totalmente agotados.
La policía de Bombay ha emitido un aviso de tráfico del 12 al 15 de julio, anticipando interrupciones debido a la boda con flotas privadas de vehículos transportando a los invitados.

Si bien la lista oficial de asistentes confirmados permanece en secreto, las apuestas y filtraciones en los medios indios abundan e incluyen líderes mundiales, y figuras públicas del mundo empresarial, medios y redes sociales.
Medios como el Times of India revelaron que celebridades como David y Victoria Beckham han sido convocados para la ocasión, así como miembros selectos de la realeza de Bollywood como los actores Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone y Ranveer Singh.

Las primeras horas de este viernes, llegaron a la celebración los ex primeros ministros del Reino Unido Tony Blair y Boris Johnson.
Además, Kim y Khloe Kardashian también fueron vistas desembarcando en Mumbai para unirse a las festividades de tres días que comienzan este viernes con el ritual de matrimonio. Se espera que el director ejecutivo de Samsung, Han Jong Hee, se una a las celebraciones, junto a otras figuras destacadas como el ex secretario general de la ONU Ban Ki-moon y su esposa, según medios indios.
Si bien los Ambani no han confirmado la lista de entretenimiento, los medios apuestan a que otras estrellas internacionales como Adele, Lana del Rey y Drake podrían subir al escenario.
En 2018 la boda de Isha Ambani, hija del presidente del conglomerado Reliance, contó con la participación de Beyoncé, y la de Akash Ambani, su hijo mayor, con Coldplay.
Las festividades continuarán el 13 de julio con una ceremonia de bendición o ‘Shubh Ashirwad‘, y una gran recepción el 14 de julio, el “Mangal Utsav”.
